Understanding Key Academic & Accountability Plans at Molokai High School
Aloha Molokai High School 'Ohana,
We believe in keeping our community informed about the various plans and reports that guide our efforts in providing the best possible education for our students. Here's a brief overview of some important terms you might encounter:
HIDOE Academic Plan: The Hawaiʻi Department of Education (HIDOE) Academic Plan is essentially our school's roadmap for improving student achievement. It's a comprehensive document that outlines our specific goals, strategies, and actions to enhance teaching and learning across all subjects. This plan is developed collaboratively by our school's staff and community, and it's aligned with statewide educational priorities to ensure all Molokai High School students are prepared for success.
Title I Plan: Molokai High School is a Title I school, which means we receive federal funding to support students who are at risk of not meeting academic standards. Our Title I Plan details how these funds are used to provide additional resources and programs. This might include extra support in reading and math, professional development for teachers, or parent involvement initiatives. The goal of our Title I plan is to ensure all students, regardless of their background, have access to a high-quality education and achieve academic proficiency.
Strive HI Report: The Strive HI Report is Hawaii's accountability system, providing an annual snapshot of our school's performance. It goes beyond just test scores, looking at a range of indicators such as student growth, graduation rates, and college and career readiness. This report helps us identify our strengths and areas where we can improve, allowing us to celebrate successes and make data-driven decisions to better serve our students. You can usually find our Strive HI report on the HIDOE website.
College and Career Readiness Indicators (CCRI): College and Career Readiness Indicators are measures that help us understand how well our students are prepared for their post-high school journeys, whether that's pursuing higher education or entering the workforce. These indicators can include things like SAT/ACT scores, Advanced Placement (AP) exam participation and success, completion of career and technical education (CTE) pathways, and dual credit enrollment. By tracking these indicators, we can tailor our programs and support to ensure Molokai High School graduates are well-equipped for their chosen path.
Panorama Report for Molokai High School: The Panorama Report refers to data collected through surveys administered to students, staff, and sometimes parents. These surveys gather valuable feedback on various aspects of the school experience, such as social-emotional learning, school climate, teacher-student relationships, and perceptions of safety. The Panorama Report provides us with insights into the well-being and engagement of our school community, helping us to create a more supportive and positive learning environment for everyone at Molokai High School.
We are committed to transparency and continuous improvement. If you have any questions about these plans or reports, please don't hesitate to contact the school administration.
Mahalo for your continued partnership in supporting Molokai High School!
